Review Other Teams' Final Video Project The technology professional version of the video is covered very well with lots of information.   The presentation is mostly clear with minor issues with the microphone becoming fuzzy or not entirely picking up the sound.   The research seems of very high quality with lots of supporting evidence, facts, and dates.   The quality is not bad but I would say average.  The green screen effect on Zoom was having some difficulty detecting the subject which resulted in the subject blending in with the background fairly often.   This video was very interesting.  I have always wanted to learn what quantum computing is and how it works but I never knew where to start.  The video covers all the basics and then continues to dive deep into the subject to give a better understanding of what this topic is.  This video is appropriate for the technology professionals audience and all professionals wi...

Module 7

Part One: Our team, Divine Design, is doing the final video presentation on brain-computer interfaces.  We are using Discord to plan and organize the topics we will be talking about in the presentation.  The topics are divided up equally so no one has too much or too little work.  Google slides is being used to collaborate on the presentation materials.  Each member is recording their parts separately and then we will combine the separate recordings together using a video editor such as iMovie or an online editor. Part Two: This week focused on presentations and how to successfully prepare an entertaining one.  The video "Life After Death by PowerPoint" showed many examples of things to avoid when making a PowerPoint presentation.   Every word you are going to say during your presentation should not be included in your slides because it makes the slide overcrowded and hard to follow.   Also, if the text is too small not everyone will be able to re...

Module 6

Learned this week: This week started with researching how proper cover letters and resumes are made.  It is crucial to master this skill because it is the first form of interest you show your potential employer.  There are four steps to ensure your resume has maximum appeal to a potential employer.   Analyze the job description Create a list of accomplishments Compare your expertise with the skills required Be descriptive with your phrases Keeping these steps in mind while creating a resume will help you stand out from the competition.  Other things to consider are using a readable font that is not too big, attempting to keep your resume to one page, and don't start phrases with "my duties" or "my accomplishments." Work this week: Our final video project has started and the topic we chose is brain-computer interfaces.  We will use google slides to create the visuals and combine our separate recorded parts with a video editor.  Also, the peer revi...

Part one: Support and Comment on Teammates' Goals Comments are linked below:     Teammate Comment 1     Teammate Comment 2 Part two: Possible Capstone Ideas This list will most likely change as the classes progress but these are three ideas that I have been thinking about. An app that splits the bill for you and a group A program that makes documents HIPAA compliment A game similar to Wordle but that can be played online with friends Part three: This Week's Learnings This week was the first official week of the ethics argument paper.  My outline was completed and I have started to put together the first draft.  An ethics argument contains many components; An issue, stakeholders, the argument question, the stakeholders' arguments to the question, and the position the writer is taking. The difference between an inference and an assumption was also made.  An inference is a conclusion that something is true because something else is true.  An as...

Setting Goals Setting goals is a vital skill that everyone should practice.  Education and Career goals are some of the most important goals to set first.  My education goal for the CS online program is to complete all courses with A's.  Although a high letter grade is sought after, personally it is not the only thing that matters for my education.  Understanding and applying what I have learned is just as important as passing the class.  Struggling through long study hours to ace a test and then forgetting everything because my brain was so exhausted is not ideal.  Taking my time and learning from my mistakes will ultimately help me ingrain the knowledge for this program.  Career goals after receiving an education are just as important.  I have already started to think about what these goals are and how I am going to accomplish them.  One way of doing this is by defining short-term and long-term goals.  Short-term I would like to intern...

Time Management and Study Strategy A study strategy that I struggle with the most is creating a study schedule for each week and sticking to it.  The AcademicTips website has many tips for study strategy including how to create daily study schedules.  Picking the media on which to create your schedule is the first step.  I like using the reminders app on my iPhone.  Constructing the schedule is the next step.  AcademicTips recommends blocking the day into hour-long intervals (or half-hour intervals on busy days).  The necessities such as class assignments, work, and eating take priority over other daily activities and should be scheduled during the most productive time of the day.  I will place these necessities towards the start of the day because that is where I am most energized.  It is also important to allow yourself small breaks each hour to give yourself a rest.  Other tips to help stay on the schedule are to not be a perfectioni...

Review and Reflect Learning Strategy Reading The article " Effective Study Skills" by Dr. Bob Kizlilk explains the different studying strategies and how to better practice studying.  There were many excellent points on how I could better my study habits and there were several that I would say I am proficient at.  The top three strategies that I practice and use the most are keeping my notes organized, answering the easy questions first on an exam, and highlighting what I think is important information.  The top three strategies that I must work on are taking effective lecture notes (tend to write down everything and not what is important), gathering materials or creating an outline before writing, and creating study schedules to keep on track while making sure I am studying all areas besides a couple of areas.  Activity Log for Thursday, September 8th Project Management Basics  The presentation, " Project Management: What is a Gantt Chart?" was an effectiv...
