Part two: Possible Capstone Ideas
This list will most likely change as the classes progress but these are three ideas that I have been thinking about.
- An app that splits the bill for you and a group
- A program that makes documents HIPAA compliment
- A game similar to Wordle but that can be played online with friends
Part three: This Week's Learnings
This week was the first official week of the ethics argument paper. My outline was completed and I have started to put together the first draft. An ethics argument contains many components; An issue, stakeholders, the argument question, the stakeholders' arguments to the question, and the position the writer is taking.
The difference between an inference and an assumption was also made. An inference is a conclusion that something is true because something else is true. An assumption is assuming something is true without questioning it. Loaded words are also something that writers should stay away from because they can cloud judgment and persuade someone's opinion. Logical fallacies are also something that every writer should stay away from. A fallacy is a failure in logic that tends to diminish the effect of an argument. Fallacies are common and something that always needs to be watched for.
